Photo's of various things. Station managers not shown!
The transmitter when running off the mains. That knife switch throws the power, the PSU can be seen behind and out of the TX can be seen the coax feed line to the antenna.
The Power Supply Unit, out of its tupper ware box.
Dummy load.
Sorry for the poor image!! Watt meter and dummy load.
The Corsair.
Low power Shortwave transmitter.
A future Project?...
A war surplus 807 transmitter valve.
The 'Celt' QRP TX
The 'Celt' is based around a heavily modified SARBE7 SAR beacon that had had it's 121.5mhz xtal removed to prevent operation. It was modified into a low-power Shortwave transmitter for operation on 6200/12400Khz, but was never overly satisfactory. It has now been stripped again and a MedFER medium wave transmitter mounted inside for both AM/CW operation and experimentation. Expect to hear it stateside in the future.
As received - my R107 communications set, currently the heaviest object I own at 42 kilo's. Postage? £25.
This beast has been providing excellent service in its role as communications monitor. last night it listen in on a ham SSB conversation between Souther germany, Corsica and the Orkney islands. Not bad, considering it was never designed for SSB work (which is more demanding on the BFO the simple CW). Anyway, it has logged a lot of Euro pirates, as well as broadcast DX and RAF/Civil aircraft communications on HF.
Valves. The way ahead!
More to come soon!
